Fly Like a Kiwi.
Our 2015 You're Getting To Be a Hobbit With Me Tour of New Zealand has entered its fifth and final, dizzying, week. After completing our stint at the Canterbury Folk Festival, we will flap back across the Pacific to the Blue Meanie, which has been waiting patiently in Albuquerque, NM. From there, we resume our 2015 Further West Tour, which began in January. After more shows and tourism, we arrive home in Vermont late this month.
Speaking of Further West, our new album bearing that title has been and will be available for sale only at our shows until the associated swag is ready to be shipped. This is expected to happen not long after we get home.
At the moment, however, we're still happily in New Zealand, and taking inventory of our experiences in this incredible country. Here are a few lines of that inventory:
- Photos taken: 900
- Cups of flat white coffee consumed: 80
-
Bungee jumps over the Nevis Valley: 0
- Keurig coffee makers spotted: 0
- German tourists spotted: 2,000 (subset of German students spotted: 1,200)
- Other European tourists spotted: 60
- American tourists spotted: 10
-
Pukekos run over accidentally: 1
- Curses hurled at poorly-designed US adapter plugs: 500
- Ounces of drool expended whilst gaping: 36
Like the mighty atom, our 2015 You're Getting To Be a Hobbit With Me Tour photo album has been split into two parts, in particular, part one and part two.
Better Call Hall.
Over the past few years, Rebecca has been approached by an endless succession of aspiring musicians seeking information on how to advance some aspect of their musical careers. She's helped when she could, but is usually too busy to help in a big way. Rebecca has, therefore, begun offering private coaching on all practical aspects of booking shows, touring and career management in the US and internationally. She's also happy to help with concerns about songwriting, singing, harmonizing and home recording. It's US$50 for each 30-minute session by Skype, telephone or instant messaging.
