AUGUST 2014 NEWSDUMPSTER

On the Other Hand, Our House Looks Bigger.

We're happy to say that we're finally back in Vermont after our first-ever Northeast By Northwest Tour, which rolled us clear across the northern US until we rolled into the Pacific.  We're unhappy to say, however, that this time we had to fly home, leaving our de facto third Townie behind.  In Burlington, WA, a week before what was intended to be the big push east, fire broke out in the mass of wires that controls the Blue Meanie's arms and legs, or whatever wires do.  Though Ken was quick on the fire hose (possibly because there's a full LPG tank down there, too), the intensity of the heat was enough to turn much of the undercarriage into blackened catfish.  According to the repair people, the Meanie will lie on the operating table for two full months whilst the necessary parts, some of which must be fashioned by hand, are procured and fitted.  If our revised plans work out, we'll fly directly to the Blue Meanie from our 2014 Europe to No Good Tour, and pick up from where we were so rudely interrupted.  We have three photo albums of this tour; not only that, we have an additional one that serves as a gap filler for those rare occassions when we're home, more or less.

At Least We Don't Need to Unpack.

Now that we're finally back in Vermont, we're about to leave for six weeks on our 2014 Europe to No Good Tour of the UK, Netherlands and Germany.  As always, we'll post far too many photos, which you'll find on our photo albums page.

Feeling a touch of schadenfreude because our fabulous touring van fell out from under us during our fabulous tour?  Well, on Hungrytown.net and Facebook.com/Hungrytown you'll see that our upcoming tour includes Germany, where schadenfreude was invented.
