The Hood of the Blue Meanie Developed These Lovely Crystals Down In Georgia, In the Deep South, Where It Is Very Warm.

January was spent working our way down to Florida, which is the first major destination on our 2014 Further West Tour.  What we love most about the drive south is watching the outside thermometer tick up one digit at a time.  Yes, indeed, on our big push from North Carolina towards Florida, we watched with delight at the dial inched ever sunward:  20, 19, 15, 11, 8°F.   During our extended, unintended, stay in the land of wisdom, justice and moderation, we had time to partake of the delights of escaping our frozen Vermont home:

  • Wiggling our toes in the white sands of Atlanta.  Hold on, that's snow.
  • It was a balmy 20 degrees warmer down in our Georgia campground (5°F/-15°C) than up north.
  • The Blue Meanie only busted one frozen water pipe.
  • The air conditioner has been running ever so quietly.
  • We love how our ice cream doesn't melt.
  • Wearing shorts and a tee shirt, under our regular clothes of course.
  • Sittin' round the campfire, or, more specifically, watching a yule log video.
