Here, There and Disrepair.
We're about halfway through our 2014 Europe to No Good Tour and have two photo albums to prove it. Here's the first. Here's the second. We'll been in the United Kingdom for another two weeks before transferring over to the continent for a spate of shows in the Netherlands and Germany. If you read August's Newsdumpster, you learned that way out in northwest Washington our US attack vehicle, i.e. the Blue Meanie, was damaged extensively in an electrical fire. We had to fly home, pack our bags and fly to London to begin our current tour. So many big, nasty parts were required that now, five weeks later, repairs are barely underway. After that, we'll head back to the United States to a location yet to be determined, depending on if, when and where the Blue Meanie is ready for prime time. In the meantime, our bloated photo albums will continue to bloat.

One of the joys of visiting the United Kingdom is consuming the many foods that, as far as we know, are not available in the US. Here is a soupçon of our favorites:
- Cask Ales. We've heard they exist in the US, but suspect they're getting hand pumps confused with slot machines.
- Soreen loaves. Maybe it's something to do with the availability of fresh sores in the US.
- Steak and kidney pie There are plenty of lame American variants like beef and mushroom, chicken and water or tofu and nap time, but show us the official offal.
- Small, cheap, cars with diesel engines that get 60+ mpg. Sure, we can get diesel luxury-branded cruisers, truck behemoths (the Blue Meanie being a rare, understated example), or the occasional big-ass SUV, but little or nothing that actually makes practicle sense. Plus, these cars are often a lot faster than you think. Plus, they're edible.
- Cheese and onion sandwiches. Not just a great song by the Rutles, but you'll usually find Ken with one in each hand whilst in the UK
- Milk Bottles. Little candy shaped like milk bottles. Doesn't sound like much, but they have an addictive quality much like an illegal product and Rebecca won't share them. What's worse, they're from Marks & Spencer, ubiquitous in the UK, but nonexistent in the US.
- Pineapple Lumps. Okay, these may not be available outside New Zealand, but Ken thought we should mention them for no good reason..
