Nothing Heels Like an Ankle.
We spent nearly all of March on our third tour of New Zealand as part of our 2017 Further West Tour, which we recently renamed the 2017 Further West-World Tour, due to the circumnavigational westward nature of our travels and evil humanoid robots. We had a terrific time, as always, and even managed to include three libraries among our passel of shows. We began this leg of our tour in Christchurch, the south island, and worked our way north to the northernmost part of the north island, at which point we met up for a week-long rendezvous with Rebecca's parents, on their first visit.
Speaking of legs, while running to get into a routine showcase photo, Ken successfully fell and seriously sprained his left ankle, leading to the acquisition of his first moon boot, to be worn for at least a month, or until he chops off his own leg. While an awkward leg device may be a passel of fun at cocktail parties, it is less so on the world's longest commercial flight, which we took from Auckland to Doha, Qatar, followed immediately by one half as long, to London.
Now we're in Gloucestershire, enjoying the remnants of our 12-hour jet lag, and looking forward to a couple of shows in the Midlands with a passel of friends who include Jonathan Beckett, Fun of the Pier and Wildwood Jack. This is our tenth tour of our beloved UK, and we'll have the good fortune of spending our 23rd wedding anniversary driving from the Scottish Highlands to the Borders with a passel of oddly pretentious nouns.
Did You Just Install Inferior Strings on Your Guitar? Those Flashing Lights In Your Rearview Mirror Might Be Us. But It's Probably the Police.
We're delighted and honored to be among C.F. Martin & Co.'s String Patrol Artists. We've been using their gear for years and it's nice to get some warm fuzzy in return.
